Our story

Two decades ago, Efraín Villa founded Villa Consulting, a crisis communications and media strategies firm that quickly expanded to become Hot Iron Strike Strategies; a full-service business consulting company working with both large and small institutions to optimize organizational opportunities, develop public relations plans, and create engaging content.

Our work centers on amplifying messaging around grassroots mobilization supporting under-resourced communities. Recent projects have focused on the Land Back movement, higher education access for economically distressed communities, early childhood development and lactation education, and philanthropic model reform.

We understand that sometimes it is not just about getting the job done, but about how the job gets done and who gets to participate. For this reason, at Hot Iron Strike Strategies, we are intentional about ensuring our company partners with organizations and individuals who share our values for community agency, civic engagement, and sociopolitical equity. Current and past business partners have included Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez, who is the first Latino to serve New Mexico’s third district and Poston & Associates, the largest female-owned, indigenous-led public relations company in the United States, and several Tribal governments within the United States.
